Been four weeks since my last entry, again. In that time, I've:
- Been to Atlanta, for a much better time at Dragon*ConDarkConfrontation than last year (which is very good, since last year was a bad enough experience that I was almost ready to give up on running the game, in the middle of a game). Pictures are up, though they still need captions.
- Been horribly ill. Possibly something I picked up at con, though it waited until Saturday night after to show up. I'm sure that work keeping me up until 5 on Saturday morning when I'd been in the process of going to bed at 11 to sleep until noon didn't do my immune system any favors.
- Seen The Lion King on stage. A bit "cute" for my theatrical tastes, but much less so than Disney could have made it, and absolutely brilliant technically.
- Been to Little Rock, for my mother's birthday and also theoretically to meet my mother's half-brother from Anaheim. Unfortunately, he proved himself a true member of the family by tripping (on what, I haven't received a clear answer) and breaking his arm at a gas station in Amarillo, and somehow he didn't want to drive all the way across Oklahoma one-handed.
- Been on a side trip (for work!) from Little Rock to Stuttgart, Arkansas, where I saw the Riceland compound, evidence that they're still holding a grudge against the Japanese for saying many years ago, "We appreciate that you want to sell us rice, but that long-grain stuff you grow in Arkansas doesn't work with chopsticks nearly so well as the short-grain variety we use", and the duck hunter's Mecca. There's nothing quite like watching retriever puppies retrieving, while on the clock.
All told, it's been a good month, but busy.
