Someone call me a maid.

Meh. I've been cleaning my apartment for the last three days. It was dusty, dirty, messy, and covered in dog hair. And as a plus, it smelled funny. I tried to tackle it solo last night, to very little avail. Went to Kroger today, and obtained a buggy full of cleaning supplies. I was unaware you needed these to REALLY clean. I guess it's one of those funny things you overlook when you're living on your own for the first time. Got disinfecting wipes, wet swiffer things, more laundry detergent, dry swiffer things, Ryan picked out two apple custard (delicious) scented candles to take care of that "smell funny" thing. Also bought delicious cereal for after-cleaning recovery. Today was much more productive. Assembled all my various pieces of furniture, so now the only thing left as a stack of various parts in my apartment is the mountain of computer parts, and that's not a complete set yet, so I'll let it go for now. Finished EVERY. PEICE. OF. LAUNDRY. -- Mine AND Ryan's. And when I say "finished" -- I mean it. Washed, dryed, folded, hung up, put away. Seriously. Cleaned the floors in the bedroom and living room (the two biggest rooms in my apartment) with the broom, the dry swiffer, and the wet swiffer. From here on, it should be fairly okay, considering I've basically cleaned 2/3rds of the whole apartment. (The living room and bedroom are GIGANTIC). About to tackle the dining room, which will mostly be just moving a couple of boxes into my studio, straightening up Mt. Computer Parts (It's an amazing wonder that I haven't tripped over the monitor, case, or one of the random bags of other parts and killed myself yet. I've always been known for my graceful nature.) and then sweeping and mopping. After that, just gotta knock out some dishes and clean the bathroom. Luckily, I'm armed and ready for that. My grandmother has the world's most wonderful foresight. Bathroom cleaner that you just spray on and rinse off, and a toilet wand. And yes, it's called a toilet wand. Frigginboss. Finally getting everything in it's place. It looks nice, now that we have actual decorative things. There were just so many to figure out. My grandmother brought us a truckload of decorations and things for the apartment. And then, in the same weekend, Ryan's mom brought us an entire carload as well. It was wonderful, but overwhelming. I've got it all put up now, though, and it looks nice. After all the cleaning gets done, I'm lighting all the candles and laying in bed, and enjoying my wonderfully decorated clean new place.

Phew.

(P.S. We're totally already decked out for Halloween. It's super-cute. I'll post pictures eventually, when I have energy.)
