casting call for two films in chicago

MamSir Productions is at it again. We are casting for two short films. One will be shooting in Chicago on Monday, April 23rd, all day, and the second will be shot over several weeks in Chicago during the month of July. Please read what is posted below for casting information. And Please forward widely.

"Obviously" a narrative short 16mm film that addresses issues of gender identity and what is "obvious" to others about what makes you a particular gender in their eyes.
CASTING:
Dylan: Androgynous female-bodied individual who is read as male.
PJ: Mid-to-late 30's gay male bartender. Medium build and height.
Adam: 35-45, gay male, regular patron of gay bar, slightly strung out (looking) - partied a bit too much.
Go-Go dancer: No particular 'look' wanted, but must be comfortable dancing in underwear only
Bouncer: Medium to large build preferably African-American woman, but will consider others
20-30 EXTRAS. The extras are for a bar scene. This is a gay male sex party, so all the extras we need are men.

This is a 40 minute video that explores the complex relationships within the trans-masculine community surrounding identity, access to hormones/surgery, feminism, the scientific/medical community, auto-biography and a host of other issues (for more detailed description go here: http://www.julesrosskam.com/current/currentprojects.html
CASTING:
TRANSMAN: Androgynous female-bodied male/masculine presenting person, mid-to-late twenties, caucasian. Preferably not on hormones but will consider all serious possibilities.
TRANS-YOUTH: female-bodied male/masculine presenting person, aprox. 18, POC
TRANSMEN 1-5: Five female-bodied masculine presenting OR identified people, range in ages, bodies, conceptions of trans/masculine identity, ethnic background, etc.
SOCIAL WORKER: woman-identified individual. late-twenties through late-forties.
This film will be shot in July in Chicago and will require a considerable commitment. Will consider people out of state, but you must be willing and able to be in Chicago for 2-3 weeks in July.
**While this is a film that addresses issues within the trans-masculine community I strongly request and encourage folks that don't necessarliy identify as "trans" but do identify as butch, aggressive, boi, masculine (and the whole long list of other words people use) to contact me if they are interested. It is not so much about a claim to a word but rather, the issues one faces when presenting or identifying as male with a female-body**
WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR CREW MEMEBERS for this film, so if you are interested in crewing the film contact me ASAP. Also, we are attempting to put into place a "learning set" in which each crew member is paired with someone who has little-to-no-experience but is unable to access more traditional modes of learning. All that is really required is a serious interest in learning film/video.
