"You forget that you exist, not as a part of a whole... but, as a person. Just one fucking guy."
CHOICES
Yunho's busy running from his demons, standing on a street corner watching human traffic flow by in the middle of the night. He's considering smoking a cigarette, but it's been a while, and he'd only end up addicted all over again and thinking of nothing but them and how he failed to make everyone happy.
It's hard to imagine, the moment when they first arrived in Japan, because he can't remember it. It's impossible to remember the moment it all fell apart because it happened so slowly. Over the span of months, years even.
He arrives at the other side of the crosswalk, glad to be unseen among so many faces. The first building on the left, the sign over its doorway lit in red kanji is the one he chooses, booming with a seemingly random beat that tugs at his sensibilities and leaves him dancing on the edge of a crowd that's lost to the rhythm in the dark.
After he runs out of breath and out of fuel, he moves to the bar, intent on ordering something that will leave him with the ability to walk back to his hotel room and not much else. Yunho pushes through the throng of people, takes a seat, makes his order and waits, ignoring the sting in his eyes.
There's nothing wrong here. Keep going.
"Sometimes, it's hard to forget you're only human, right? That we all have something we want, and strive for. Dreams to accomplish," The man sitting next to him says, face shadowed underneath the rim of a silk fedora, seemingly speaking to the air if not for the glance sent his way between downing a shot of vodka and inhaling from the cigarette poised between his fingers. "You forget that you exist, not as a part of a whole... but, as a person. Just one fucking guy."
Yunho tilts his head, taking the cup of sake slid to him and tossing it back before standing, his vision tilting slightly as he makes his way out of the club, past the grinding bodies and beyond the thumping music.
He comes back to the street corner, feeling just that much better about what lies ahead of him.
