Nine Days in Bullet Points

  • Over the last week plus, my overall happiness has not changed by too much. The positives and negatives that are canceling out have, however, increased in magnitude. Perhaps not a good sign. (edit: Didn't even notice when writing it, but what a crappy pun.)
  • <3 music with weird time signatures. It feels so unsettling, and I guess it's kind of disturbing that this should be a good thing, but there you go. I listen to music on my iPod during the commute, and for a few days last week, the entire commute was one or another weird-time-signature song on repeat.
  • I was sick for a few days last week. The intensity of the symptoms followed a nice parabolic arc from Wednesday to Friday. It kind of sucked. At the very least, I got three days off work and a whole lot of sleep, at the expense of muscle pains, a sore throat, a fever, some headaches, and general exhaustion. Fair trade, maybe?
  • Was reading the Scott Pilgrim series again earlier today, while recovering. It is still awesome. "Mushroom? Star? Fire flower?"
  • The weather on Sunday was amazing. It was sunny in the morning, and then it started to rain really heavily. An hour after that, it was sunny again. Then, swirling rain/snow/sleet with powerful gusts of wind. Then sunny again. Then more of the snow tornado. And then, it was dark. Followed by yet more swirling snow after dark.

Thankfully, Monday was "just" really fucking cold and windy.
  • I went to bed fairly early last night, and woke up every two to three hours thereafter coughing like mad. At 6 AM I decided that enough was enough and took yet another sick day from work. At 11 AM I awoke to hear the phone ringing -- it was a co-worker asking for more details on the component I was working on so that they could cover for me for the day, and my voice was just kind of a rasp. Since then, it's thankfully gotten a little better.
