I went to a surprise birthday party in Milpitas for a "leapling," which is my new favorite word. I drove there with some friends and as soon as we got off the freeway I thought I'm in the middle of suburbia and it looked so much like the San Fernando Valley. I felt really uncomfortable seeing the matching two-story houses and manicured green lawns. And at the party was this guy, Peter, who looked just like James with his dark curly hair and facial hair and feminine hands. At least I smashed a pinata to bits, but really it seemed necessary.

Last night I went to a party that was neat because everyone brought a piece of art (and food) to share. I brought my snail painting. Other people sang and recited poetry and showed photography projects, etc. We had our own makeshift art gallery.

Certain people in my major are starting to really piss me off. I had a short conversation on Friday with this one girl who annoyed be last semester when she asked me for Adderall which I a) don't have and b) don't condone for studying purposes. This time she asked me what classes I was taking, because what else could be asked, and she told me that she would rather take the easy way out so she is taking "really easy" classes.

I told her that I thought it admirable that she was willing to sacrifice her education for her GPA. She didn't know how to respond to that.

Training for the BFC is almost done, and then it will be Spring Break. I'll be up here until the Tuesday of that week so if you want to hang out, let me know.

And lastly, here is an article Rebecca posted that speaks to some of the problems I had with Juno:
