My brother and dad are letting me drink beer at home. So now I'm drinking some holiday-affiliated alcohol, snacking, listening to those two talk about beer and sports, and reading about/online-stalking my brother's gorgeous Rhodes Scholar friend (who recently published a book on art and neuroscience and worked in Eric Kandel's lab at Columbia, omg soulmate).
I went to Coffee Junction today and had my favorite hot chocolate of all time. I drove there, which was AWESOME. It's been so long since I had a car. This was one of the few places open, though it closed at 1. I always feel trapped on holidays as there is nowhere to go. It's like forced family-time.
I'm dreading venturing out to the shops tomorrow before meeting up with Steph. I can't believe some stores are opening up at 4AM. That's ridiculous.
It's always funny coming back. My room looks the same as it did in high school. The same pictures and bits of notepaper are up on my walls with images and messages from people I no longer speak to. I think it's time for some redecorating, but I'm never around long enough. Instead, I Google the people I no longer speak to. Apparently Tyler is now the "VP of Programming & Database Administration" for this one company in Santa Clarita. We haven't conversed since some time last April when he called to tell me he was probably going to move to Uruguay.
