YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!
With extra awesomesauce on top! Dude, when Jared leaned back on that table in that grey shirt and I could see how jacked he was I was like, 'yup, it's sexy times!' AND I TOTALLY CALLED THE RUBY-DEAN CONNECTION, AND WINCEST FANS SHOULD BE CELEBRATING ABOUT NOW, TOO!
Ok, ok, so I'm SURE 75% of fandom is celebrating the fact that the Impala was saved, or whatever, and the other 25% has decided that Sam wanted to be fucking his brother there, BUT I DO NOT CARE BECAUSE I GOT MY SAM/RUBY!!! Seriously, it was short, but, I thought it was hot. Maybe not as hot as a certain limo sex scene, but, what with Jared's awe-inspiring back muscles and Genevieve's talking....I want screencaps. So I can icon it. NOW. Long live Sam/Ruby (no, really, if Kripke kills her next episode I will...do something drastic).
Dude, you KNOW I've been pulling for Genevieve all this time, and I think she really delivered here when she was finally given the material to do it. I don't think Ruby's lost her edge. It's always kind of been interesting how gray Ruby is where Sam is concerned because I do think she genuinely admired/admires his heart and does care for him on some level (she said as much in Sin City). But, I also think that Lilith's a crazy bitch, Ruby knows Sam's the only thing on earth that Lilith's afraid of, and Ruby really, really does not want to go back to hell (though I don't think Sam's told her that he's actually immune to Lilith). And I think Ruby also, like Dean (though for different reasons) doesn't want to see Sam become Lilith, no matter how powerful he gets because then she's just at the mercy of yet another very powerful evil being. She needed Sam to be human as much as Sam needed to be human, and I think Sam's actually kicking her out of the Imapala for possessing a live body was probably the best thing he could have done then because it showed he had that spark of humanity left in him despite the fact that he was so far gone. Ruby may be on the right side here but she's still a demon, and she's still been dealing with forces larger than life so I think it's understandable that she wouldn't necessarily think before possessing a random body.
For all the folks out there creeped out by necrophilia - Sam's body was cold and 'rotting' for who knows how long before Dean made that deal. So, unless you think Sam should never have sex again either...
"I recycle. Al Gore would be proud" Hehe.
Noteworthy also, I think, is the fact that Ruby and the other three demons working for Lilith never used their powers. They all always fought physically. Which probably means something my Sam/Ruby-addled brain can't come up with right now (all of the YED's children could use their powers, as can Sam).
Anna seems like an alright character, though I didn't see much chemistry between her and Dean besides that random shared laugh. I can see why they'd get each other, and that they've been connected through the mythology, but, as usual, it kind of computes but doesn't translate, if that makes sense. Plus, it looks like Dean's destined, despite his reputation, to have sex set to old-school Jewel or Sarah McLachlan whenever he actually does it onscreen. And, dear God, if it's because she wants to fuck 'The Dean!'...
But anyway, it's interesting the abilities they've given her. She can move things, tune into the angels, and see the true faces of demons. That is a lot of power for one person. The information about the seals was interesting and I wonder why Castiel hasn't told Dean about that, since he has to know. What had Anna called the raising of Samhain? If the angels can see into the future, though, and they were telling her what to draw, and they had her draw that window - they wanted Sam and Dean to go after her.
The demons had Dean right where they wanted him- with Lucifer. I need to rewatch that part before I comment on it further, but I liked the usage of 'My lord'.
Oh, I liked the brotherly tag-teaming at the beginning and the way Sam was pretending to be drunk - but then ran straight to Ruby when he saw her, I'm sorry, I'm a SUCKER for this pairing. And wow, yeah...Sam was going through a dark time. And Ruby saved him. And I don't think she was imitating Dean, she doesn't know Dean well enough to do that, I think it was all her and I ship this pairing SO SO HARDCORE right now and...just yes! YES! I will be downloading this ep to watch again. :)
