I once found a young squirrel that had been attacked by a cat. It was weak but friendly, too young to be afraid of me. I gathered it up and it nestled into my sweatshirt, embedded there as I walked home.
It stayed in my bedroom for 2 weeks as it healed, running freely in the awning above my bed. He started getting territorial, throwing poop at me and making noise, so I let him go.
Awesome story! H & I raised a squirrel on our front porch and released him on our wedding day... he was already being tutored by a mother squirrel who adopted him onoce he was able to open the screen door on his own. Look for a card next week!
