Geared up.

Nov 01, 2005 23:34

There's a lot to say but not much gumption to say any of it... I'm still in privacy mode, relishing the strangeness of my life, somewhat satisfied knowing that the stories can sink into select few minds or be logged poetically in the Uni-verse's Annals of Oblivion.

For now I'll probably export my thoughts into two posts...

Much of this post is geared toward events I'm planning to attend in November.
Events I'd like to share with friends here and elsewhere if possible... so make note.
Not surprisingly, much of the plans will be for local Atlanta events...
However, some events will take place in the Emerald City, next week.

For those of you impatient with long posts and tons of links, I'll list out what's happening and let you click behind the cut if you so chose.

November 3rd & 4th: Plucker

According to Sam Leyja, friend, fellow animator and keyboardist for Tiger! Tiger! (see below.), his buddy Brom -the "world-renowned dark fantasy artist"- will be in town signing his new book The Plucker and whatever else people may bring by!
He'll be signing at Oxford Comics on Thursday, Nov. 3rd at 7:30 PM, and at the Midtown Borders on Nov. 4th. at 7:00 PM.

November 4th: Brother, he crops in the jungle still.

Tiger! Tiger!, with Sam Leyja (see above) will be performing at the Drunken Unicorn! I'll be there!

November 4th or 5th: The Sky IS Falling.

I just got word that a bunch of the Birdman and Stroker & Hoop animators are getting together to see Chicken Little in 3D at the Mall Of Georgia's Regal 20 & IMAX... Not sure what show time or if it's Friday or Saturday... I'll post when I know...or you can call/txt msg me and remind me to ask.

November 7th - 14th: The Emerald City

I'm off to see the Wizards, the Troll and Sasquatch.
Flying NorthWest into the Emerald City to spend a week with the
Mad Patter and Peaseblossom.

Any suggestions for things to do while I'm there would be greatly appreciated.

November 14th: Birdman

From a friend's post:

This is a heads up for you to save the date November 14th.

The animated filme society ASIFA-Atlanta is having a Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law screening, including a chat with the show creators, writers and animators. Rumor has it that our very own Birdman might be there, too.

When: November 14th @ 8pm
Where: The Red Chair on Amsterdam Walk (Midtown)
How much: $5 for non members, free for members (good time to join, bring your checkbook)
Why: Because I said so (and, in case you're wondering, I am a member of the ASIFA board)

Come on, it's a Monday night, it's either this or hanging out with your roommate in matching pajamas.

My cousin Julie Gribble has been recieving some press and impetus from her appearance on The Late Late Show last month! She's been nominated for an LA Music Award for Best Alternative Artist. The ceremony will be held on November 9th at The Music Box in Hoolywood. And for those of you who live near the great Hooly, Julie's band will be playing at the Knitting Factory at 9:00 PM, November 23rd....
Julie will also be interviewed on the terrible Tyra Banks Show in November!
