Back from the beaches...
I returned to IHOB about an hour ago...
I'm trying to settle in and cope.
Jacques Faux Cliche died at 3:20 am Thursday (2/17) morning...
we didn't know that he was suffering from serious complications related to feline leukemia...
From room 117 in a Jacksonville hotel, I made the call to euthanize him...
thus I've returned home to find an empty space...
it's the color of marmalade and the shape of a cat shadow...
but it won't come to greet me or beg or steal bread...
and I doubt I'll wake to find it curled up like pisces with Garbo under my arm...
the fear that Ms. G-hed might also be infected, brings nausea, chills and tears...
This weekend I'll collect his remains... and think of a place to bury him.
During all of this
kungfoogirl once again proved that she is an amazingly good, generous person... (and if I understand correctly,
tbons & Co. aren't so bad either)...
they took JFC to the emergency vet and laid down a serious retainer in my absence...
R.I.P. JFC
The most recent photo I have of Jacques Faux Cliche...
Rest In Play lil' buddy.
There's a lot that I want to say, about death, dying, animals, the law, religions, happy, sad, etc....
but I am far too tired and need to do too much before I sleep...
The T-Mob job was memorable, hectic and frustrating at times...
driving through unfamiliar places and not being able to explore was maddening...
(no, the
break-in last week was not sufficient to keep me from exploring broke down palaces!)...
JFC's passing kept me up the night before I had to relocate to Hilton Head, SC...
making my my nagging work ethic and the hours of test-calling that much worse...
I clocked in nearly 13 hours on the road Thursday... at least the SC dispatch operators were friendlier than the J-Ville dispacth...
I took a lot of photos...
I'll probably just upload them with descriptions in my fotki account and add links later...
for now I need to bathe and sleep.
