I am surprised at how much I enjoyed the Root Picnic.
I got in for free (it was like 55$), got paid to be there, and got to watch all the groups.
Granted, it was mostly hip-hop, but it was a good show. The Roots, Public Enemy, Santigold, Busdriver, Kid Cudi, Asher Roth, TV On The Radio, The Black Keys, The Pipes.. and a bunch of other people.
It was interesting. I basically had to go around and promote the Roots, Asher Roth, and anyone else doing a signing. We had to sell the CD's and then whoever bought them could go to the signing. It got really fucking old after a while asking everyone to buy CD's, because half of them already had whatever CD they would want. I got paid from 7 in the morning until 11 at night though.. no complaints :]
