Results are in: Kibaki has been re-elected as President of Kenya.
There have been riots in Kibera and in western Kenya. Police have killed at least 10 protesters. (The police are goddamn frightening. Do not trust them.)
Electoral observers from the EU have reported irregularities; I'm not sure if there will be a recount or not. Either way, hoping that the violence will pass quickly.
It's just horrible that a country that has been through so much to attain independence and democracy still has to deal with this shit. Granted, this election was largely peaceful up until the counting started, and Kenya is much more democratic than other countries in the region. But that's even more reason not to tolerate any kind of fraud or rigging. The people deserve better.
