Рон Пол не упустил возможности высказаться по насущному вопросу:
If it became known that 9/11 resulted in part from a desire to retaliate against what many Muslims saw as American aggression and occupation, the need to demonize Islam would be difficult if not impossible.
There is no doubt that a small portion of radical, angry Islamists do want to kill us but the question remains, what exactly motivates this hatred?
И действительно, в чём могла бы быть причина? Что могло бы подвигнуть радикальных религиозных фанатиков на ведение джихада? Загадка... Тайна...
Впрочем, Рон Пол знает разгадку - виноваты, конечно же, жидынеоконы.

Conservatives are once again, unfortunately, failing to defend private property rights, a policy we claim to cherish. In addition conservatives missed a chance to challenge the hypocrisy of the left which now claims they defend property rights of Muslims, yet rarely if ever, the property rights of American private businesses.

Пол в пределах одной страницы сначала признаёт, что консерваторы понимают права строителей мечети и именно поэтому рассчитывают на общественное давление - и тут же поносит их за то, что они не понимают этих прав и требуют их нарушения! Он рассчитывает, что читатель уже забыл содержание предыдущих абзацев?
И одно очень верное замечание:
Defending the controversial use of property should be no more difficult than defending the 1st Amendment principle of defending controversial speech.
Вот, предположим, некто решил бы публично назвать Обаму грязным ниггером. Может ли правительство запретить это делать? Конечно нет - на то у нас есть 1-я поправка. Однако что произойдёт, если он это сделает? Public pressure.
Как обычно, читая речи Рона Пола, невозможно не сделать вывод, что либо они написаны человеком non compos mentis, либо рассчитаны на таких читателей. Или и то, и другое.
