AO3 NOTES:
OMG! I finished the zombie fic. Wow. Yes, there will be an epilogue, but the actual story I wanted to tell is finished. I'm so proud of myself for actually getting it done.
What to say about this fic? About this chapter? Well, it had delicious angst, which is probably why I wrote it so quickly. I'll always be happy to write that. I also really liked the chapter title song that taps into such wonderful angst.

I'm happy with this chapter in general. The science-y stuff was accurate enough. I actually researched this as I was coming up with the story and it's plausible enough. It's a bit of a handwave, but oh well.
My main problem with this chapter was how to end it. It's a happy ending, but knowing that I'll be writing an epilogue means that once Sousuke and Kaname are happy with the new baby, the story can end. But when I originally wrote this, it was just too abrupt. So I cushioned the end a bit and cast an eye toward what the future in this universe might look like. I think that
luxken27's prompt for the Summer Mini Challenge really helped end this chapter.
I'll say it: I liked this story. It wasn't always super fun to write, but in general, I like this story and I stand behind the decisions I made with it. It's been so much fun to untangle plot points, insert twists, and build this universe. Once it's all completely done, I don't know what I'll feel guilty about if it's not guilt about updating! If anyone out there is even reading these notes, thanks for coming along on this journey with me!
