Full Metal Panic Fic: The Sickness: Chapter 2
Title: The Sickness, Chapter 2: You've Arrived at Panic Station

Story Summary: Alternate Universe. Sousuke Sagara is the long standing, long suffering bodyguard of Lady Kaname, the only daughter in a wealthy family. She has recently been married off to a distant cousin in the hopes that she produce an heir and will never be forced to leave her home. If anyone expected the zombie apocalypse, they're not in this story. In time, it’s only Sousuke and Kaname fighting for survival and just hoping not to get bitten in this strange, new world.
Chapter Summary: Sousuke has to keep Kaname and her father safe in a house full of the walking dead.

So here is where the story starts to get a little (okay, a lot) gory. It's a zombie fic and I found that I actually quite liked writing the horror aspects of the story. It's a little different than the relationship stuff that I normally write. So, that's awesome.
The song inspiration for the title of this chapter is pretty self-explanatory. It's Muse's Panic Station. I think that the lyrics, though they're sung in an upbeat and fun manner, fit the story quite well.
The main impetus for this chapter was to establish a lot of facts about the mythology of the zombies in my story as well as the dangerous stakes at hand. I wanted it more than simple exposition and I don't know how successful I was at that. Scribe didn't like it, and though it's not my best, most subtle writing, I think I did the job I set out to do. I think readers will take the facts and store them, and I'm freed up to tell the rest of the story without having to consistently bringing up new things to know about zombies.
Also, for Downton Abbey fans, Kiku is based on Daisy. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
I do sincerely hope that people are reading and enjoying this fic. But even if they aren't, I'm having such a wonderful time writing it. Until next time!
