I got a nastygram in the mail yesterday from our apartment complex.  Apparently, we're not allowed to have a satellite unless we pay $25 a year (plus jump through a few other hoops) and they're just telling us now.

When I went in to pay (and show renters insurance?), I asked why they charge $25 a year.  I was told that the apartment complex owner ( Read more... )

Yeah, we'll see about owning a home once we're in a place that seems more permanent. It could be here. Or not. We'll see. :P

As for the comic, I just love xkcd.com. I follow it religiously. :)

Oh, apartment living. You're just full of *fun* surprises, aren't you? :)

(I could've gotten a satellite dish for no extra charge...but it couldn't be permanently affixed to any part of the rental property, and my apartment faces the wrong way to put the dish on a stick in the "yard." Ugh. Cable sucks so hard.)

Heh. Ours isn't supposed to be permanently affixed either, but it's screwed into a balcony post. We have maintenance coming out tomorrow to (I'm sure) yell at me about it. *sigh*

We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping he's cool with it. If not, I'm making a run to the Home Depot to come up with clever solutions. *double sigh*
