Merlin fic plotting continues
I've been so exhaustingly busy this week that I didn't work on my Merlin fic at all until this afternoon, but then I made quite a bit of headway on the plotting front.
* I still haven't written the prologue yet (but it is now definitely going to be a prologue rather than chapter one).
* I've finally picked my favourite of the two possible titles, though it's still subject to change.
* I've ordered everything into an outline of events with chapter numbers and titles.
* I've realised that Arthur is set for a lot of near dying, unless I share things out with Merlin a bit. Some Arthur guilt and worrying about Merlin could be good too, I suppose...
* I've realised that I've nearly completely left out Morgana and Gwen. Morgana's name is involved at one point and Gwen makes an appearance in the epilogue, but that's hardly enough to be fair or realistic. Maybe I should come up with a little subplot for them or I could just properly include them at the beginning and end when Uther and Gaius make their limited appearances. I can't have Morgana and Gwen following Merlin and Arthur's plot lines, that would involve juggling too many characters in all the scenes and ruin all of the Merlin & Arthur -ness. Though, they could pop up at some point...I did have that idea about involving Gwen in it...but then I'd need to get rid of them again before later events as they'd be in the way. Perhaps one of Morgana's seer dreams midway through to foreshadow later chapters might be good. Hmm...
* Ooh, I've discovered that the spells used on Merlin are in Old English, so I may try to include little bits of Old English.
Right-ho, I need to get to bed now. Early start in the morning and another exhausting week awaits.
