While I don't do it professionally, for various reasons, I have been asked twice in my lifetime to submit my original work for publication. Both times I have turned down the offer, but fandom writing can be helpful sometimes. -smiling- The only piece of advice I'd give anyone is not to only focus on fandom writing if you're interested in becoming an actual writer.

Thanks for the kind words, darlin'. I don't think I want to be an actual writer... sort of a social responsibility thing. I was just all giddy that whoever wrote that article is probably as fangirlish as the rest of us :D
