first attempts at making icons....

I've been playing with paint.net and trying to make icons -- these are my first attempts -- all Kaiba from Yugioh! (gee, you think I got a thing for him or sumthun?) ... mostly behind the cut, (hopefully if I can get the dang thing to work, but here's one for a sample. There are only about half a dozen or so, and I have no idea how you get the nice

Actually the manga looking ones are originally screencaps run through Paint.Net's sketch effect -- for a freeware program, Paint.net had some really nice things on it. The weird multiple eye thing is the same image base as one of the sketches, just using a different effect. Paint.net is kinda fun!

I copped the internet phrase from someone else's Kaiba icon -- I really liked the idea, and wanted one for my "idiots on myspace" type rants, but they had white letters on a yellow background, and it was really hard to read. Absolutely lousy contrast. But then I got lucky and found a couple bases I could add to, so I made my own.

Thanks ever so much for the table! I am still trying to figure out all these various little LJ boxes and how to make them work, with varying success. (Sometimes my LJ cuts work, sometimes they don't and I have to go back and edit till I fall into the right combo to get them to happen.... Nothing like a learning curve.) If I can get these into the little boxes and get my LJ cut to work I'm going to try posting them to one of the Yugioh icon communities.
