WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
It's only an unconfirmed rumor so far, but
TVShowsOnDVD.com says that a tangle of who owns the rights to the series "Ghost and Mrs. Muir" has been settled, and there are whispers that it might be coming out on DVD.
Let's see - the blurb says it ran in '68 and '69; I was 16 and 17, and I had such a crush on Captain Gregg. I think that was the first time that I noticed a character as a potential love interest - what can I say, I developed an interest in the opposite sex rather late - and my Mary-Sueish falling-asleep fantasies centered around Captain Gregg for a looooong time.
Later (early 20's or so), I read the original story, and saw the '47 movie with Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison - soooo angsty and sad-sweet. Come to think of it, that may be why I don't mind death stories too much if the characters are together - it was just so right that he waited for her, and they were together after she died. (Though I didn't like it that he stayed away from her all those years.)
Anyway, this is very exciting news; I do believe I'll be dreaming about Captain Gregg again tonight!
