Oops, guess I was wrong

So I was wrong about the no emergency surgery thing. Or, well, less wrong and just posted too early. Here's a recap of the schedule up to the last time I posted:

Weekend 1: Saturday night ER visit in Alma
Weekend 2: Friday night ER visit in Alma (thanks for both trips Matt!)
Monday: Mild attack, found and went to doctor in Lansing
Thursday: Got a call back from Dr, said he scheduled me an ultrasound for the following week and a follow-up trip to see him the week after that.
Saturday: Ate last actual meal, had another serious attack. Was in varying amounts of constant pain after that.
Monday: Had ultrasound, where they wouldn't tell me anything. I went back to work and called my doctor to see about moving up my follow-up appointment.
Tuesday: Went to follow-up, where the original diagnosis of gallstones was confirmed. They scheduled me to have a consultation with a surgeon the next morning, which would probably result in a Thursday surgery. Received a shot which knocked me out for several hours.

This brings us up to the crucial Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I woke up a few times during the night and took pain pills to help me through the night. When I woke up at 4 am and couldn't take it anymore, I woke up my mom and we headed to the ER. They admitted me right away (I have to commend their speed, there wasn't any wait to get in at all) and shot me full of painkillers, for which I was obviously greatful. Then there were the normal pre-surgery hospital things, and Wednesday afternoon I FINALLY had my gallbladder removed. I cannot believe how much better I felt after it was done. Even being post-operative, immobile, having four new holes in my body it was like being reborn. The older lady who shared my hospital room (and who thought I was 15) even commented on it. They wouldn't let me leave the hospital until Thursday because of my blood disorder, but the precautions they took beforehand worked fine and I didn't have any extra bleeding.

So now I'm back at mom's house, getting slowly better and going slowly crazy. I expect lots of good wishes and nice thoughts from all the people I love. :)
