Happy Life Day!
My first batch of Star Wars sugar cookies using the Williams-Sonoma cutters didn't turn out so well. Picture a formless blob and you get the idea. The cutters reminded me of my mother's spring-loaded, round candy molds used to make polvoron, a Filipino candy full of buttery, sugary, milky goodness. So I used the cutters to make Star Wars polvoron. The shapes and details held up quite nicely.
A few tips: If you are considering making polvoron, look for a recipe which uses lemon or vanilla extract. I don't care for the plain or crushed peanut varieties. I sprayed the cutters with cooking spray before pressing them into the candy mixture. Polvoron is usually wrapped individually in tissue paper or cellophane, but the Star Wars shapes are a bit too large for wrapping individually. I placed mine in a single layer in a container.
