I've been so busy it's insane. I've hardly been able to even think about anything not involving bones and tissues. Anatomy & Physiology is really interesting and I'm enjoying it, it's just so much to learn. I've been spending most of my free time doing homework and studying. Then this weekend I had to do wedding related stuff with my sis-in-law, and I got my bridesmaid dress. I went to the Bodies Exhibition on friday, that was really cool. I totally recommend it. Since I got to miss class for that, I took a couple hours afterward to walk around and shop and pretend I didn't have to do anything. It was really nice.

My a&p professor is already trying to talk me into doing something more "medical," something more demanding than a midwife. I don't think she knows just how in depth the training is, but I might consider it if I don't get accepted to the midwifery school. We'll see. One of her suggestions was physicians assistant, and that would probably actually be really cool. I would just prefer to work in obstetrics/infertility/other related field. I love the midwifery model of care, but that doesn't mean I couldn't take that philosophy into a more medical field. On the flip side, I'd probably tend to be a more "medical" midwife, not in philosophy so much, but in approach and knowledge. I don't know, I just love all of it. Something to think about at least.

I'm trying to work on my writing class assignment. This week we have to create a hypothetical brochure for our future practice (midwife, doula, childbirth educator, whatever our chosen field is). Anyone want to give me suggestions of things you would like to learn about a midwife from her brochure? What you would want to know about her personally, her philosophy, her services, etc? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out! I'm currently browsing gettyimages.com for appropriate sample brochure images, which is an excuse to work on something related to the project without really working on it...
