This years SXSW was more successful than last years in that I did more SXSW stuff than just party. Except I was sick the whole time so I was in bed by like, 10:00 every night. Being sick + day drunk + weed cookies = can't stay out late. Yup, getting old is a pain in the ass. I saw Meiko, The Ugly Suit, David Vandervelde, Circa Survive, Sum 41, Andrew W.K., and other bands whose names I didn't catch. REALLY wanted to see Wallpaper and Jaguar Love, but fate said it wasn't my time. And like last year, the end of SXSW marks the beginning of running season. I had a drag off a cigarette Sunday afternoon and plan to have that be my last for a long while. I am running in the Blue Bell Fun Run in Brenham, TX on April 17th and in the Warrior Dash in Dallas on May 1st. I REALLY want to do a half marathon this year. And I REALLY want to do better at running than last year. I'm starting to get excited. I think I'll be a lot more disciplined than I was last year. Hell, a few months ago I did a nine miler on a whim. I think if I keep cigarette smoke away from my lungs, I can break all of my previous speed and distance records. My distance has felt ok lately but my speed work has SUCKED. First, I need to not be sick anymore. Cough cough.
