Late night phone calls he would make to her
that would wake her up but she didnt mind
it seemed worth it just to hear his voice
he started repeating things because
they talked so much
shed never hang up with him until the end of the night
when he would say he was going to sleep
she was never the one to tell him she was tired
she’d continue the conversations as long as she could
until one night she realized she couldnt continue holding on any longer
and she told him she had to go
and there was no “good” in that goodnight
