Engaged!!
I had the best weekend ever...
Daniel and i planned a mini-vacation to columbus [about an hour and a half from here] and it was nothing short of amazing.
but let me start from the beginning.
We had made reservations at Travelodge. We checked in, got keys, took all of our things upstairs, and the door just pushed open with your finger..the door doesnt latch. Yeah, like we really felt safe keeping our things in there. We requested another room. Room #2, the door didn't open period. It wasn't that the keys didnt work, cuz they did, the knob was just broken. The guy came down, and told daniel that he was opening it wrong. You have to pull back on the crese of the knob, and jiggle it a little bit THEN pull down "gently". WTF. how do you open a door wrong anyways? Room #3, smelled HORRIBLY...and the TV channels were all completly fuzzy. Daniel decided that we'd take our stuff, go down and request a refund. this wasn't how he wanted to spend our romantic weekend. We got a refund, and went just down the street to this amazing hotel. The Clarion. 5 stories, beautiful, had a indoor heated pool with a huge hot tub, a gym, a huuugge room with a king size bed, coffee maker, iron and ironing boards, and movies on the TV that were still in theatres. awesome. and it was only $20 more a night. hell yeah.
Our first night, we ran around trying to find some kind of normal store [like target, walmart] to buy swim suits, since we weren't aware that we were going to have a pool, we didn't bring our own. After we found a target, it was about to close so we ran in and bought some without trying them on. MISTAKE. they didn't fit.
We finally got settled into bed, and i asked daniel to turn off the light next to his side of the bed. I'm laying there watching tv, and as he reaches over, i notice that he flips back over towards me [without even turning the light off] and all i hear is "Will you marry me?" I looked at him, my mouth dropped, and i hid my face in his body [with my mouth still open] for like 5 minutes...just repeating 'omg, omg, omg...' while he's sitting there saying "well?" lol. after like 10 minutes i finally told him yes...of course. I think its safe to say i was freaking out. Totally unexpected, and he didn't talk it up cuz he knew if he did, i would know that it was coming. i had no idea, and that was AMAZING. perfect, actually. wow. I couldn't have pictured it going better. I love that man.
The next day we went to Cosi. i remember that place being much more fun when i was like 10. But, they did have some pretty cool things. We made our calls and announced our engagment to our families. they're all excited. Went shopping at Polaris after we left cosi, and went to dinner at olive garden later that night. Bought some wine, and had a good ol time hanging out together for the rest of the weekend. Came home yesterday, had to go show everyone my ring, and finally got to relax last night somewhere around 10.
i loved every bit of this weekend. I didn't want it to end!!
