in nyc
last night was the gotham girls bout - it was pretty cool. one skater - suzy hotrod - was fucking *fast*....but i couldn't help but think, 'i could do that, no problem'....so, yea. i am excited. more so than before. seeing things put into action really lit me up.
afterwards there was an open skate, and i put on my skates and raced around. it was a huge ego boost to have three separate gotham girls approach me to ask me if i lived in the area and would be into joining the league. it was fun to be able to say, 'i'm already on the philly team...' at least i know i could possibly transfer teams should i decide to move here.
i still can't believe that i have found such happiness and excitement in....roller derby. what ?!
anyway.
today i saw gretchen and joe...we went deeper into brooklyn into an area that is mostly arab and ate at a syrian place. it was cool. i'd really like to not be so damned swollen, but this antibiotic is making me into a bloated mess. it's also making me hyper and moody and my stomach has a rash. this is why i fucking LOATHE taking antibiotics, or any other prescribed drug. the side-effects are so damned scary that it ceases to feel like a good idea to take them at all.
they may come back into manhattan later for more hanging out. we'll see. damian bailed on me, which is all good since it's a low-key kind of day. i took some pics on the f train platform. on the whole, i am good.
tomorrow i will leave early so i can get some skate time in before hopefully seeing p. i'm missing practice to go to modest mouse so i need to burn out some of this energy.
thursday, toronto. i think i can make it until then....
