He turned his head slightly when she spoke, his expression still serious, yet his eyebrows had raised at her. "Good job I'm in the right place for treatment, then," he countered with a slight drawl.

He liked this, though. That they had a good working relationship, as well as personal. He of course wouldn't have allowed any other nurse to make such a crack at him, but that was besides the point.

Spock didn't like the scheduled physicals any more or less than any other member of the crew. But it was always better to simply get it over and done with in the most expedient fashion possible. He was also aware that as one of the commanding officers it would be better to make an example and not try to avoid or put off his visit.

Scheduling the requisite amount of time before the start of his shift, the Vulcan made his way to Medical Bay. He was, of course, unaware of any special treatment that the good doctor had planned. There was to be expected, of course, the same slight delay Spock experienced every time he was forced to have a physical with a new attending physician. No, he was not nervous, his heart rate was always that fast and yes, the equipment was working properly, his heart actually did sit there, sort of near his stomach and slightly to the side ( ... )

(Haha yeeeey :D ^____________^)

Bones was about to look over his padd with the appointments once more, when the doors to his medical bay slid open. Raising an eyebrow, he fought back the way his lips wanted to turn up, as he made a beeline for Spock. He still had yet to confront the man about the situation with Nyota, an he was itching for an opportunity.

Yes, he'd be professional and conduct the physical with as little fuss as possible, but he'd perhaps be even more lacking than normal with his bedside manner.

After all, even Spock could learn to hate his neck stabbings, right?

"Spock. Right this way," he gestured for him to follow him towards one of the biobeds, so he could begin.

Spock had no reason to suspect anything at all was amiss. He nodded to the other as McCoy came towards him, and then followed obediently to one of the biobeds. Thankfully it wasn't an occasion that required disrobing.

"I expect that I do not need to inform you that, as a Vulcan, my internal organs vary significantly from those of your usual Human patients." he said, cocking his brow and lifting himself to be seated on the bedside. He wasn't sure whether he needed to lie down, so he did not, just looking expectantly at the other.

"Really? Well, all those years of medical training, and I missed basic Vulcan biology 1-0-1. Damnit," he rolled his eyes then, shooting Spock a deadpan look, begging him in his gaze to seriously reconsider making such statements again.

"which in a nutshell means yes, you're right, you don't need to," he added, his tone a little sharper. He knew Spock seemed to think his intelligence level far superior to that of everyone else - and maybe it was - but Leonard McCoy resented being looked down on.

He reached for his medical tricorder then and began scanning Spock.

"Basics first," he explained.

Knowing it was merely the others natural inclination to be so taciturn, the Vulcan simply pressed his lips into a thin line and settled into patient silence. There were lots of things Terran medicine didn't know about Vulcan biology, but Spock refrained from mentioning it. Vulcan's preferred to seek Vulcan medical professionals when the need arose. Unfortunately, due to Starfleet regulations and his unique position as one of the few of his race in the fleet, Spock had to make due with Humans.

Lifting his head and turning it to look away while the other took his readings, Spock focused on the wall that displayed the vitals of those resting in the beds.

Leonard did a few scans, pausing after every one for a few moments to take notes. He muttered to himself, something about 'this is my damn job, of course I know what I'm doing.' Shaking it off for a moment, he gestured for Spock to shift on the bed. "Reflex tests." He explained. He wanted to communicate with Spock as little as possible. Because right now wasn't the time to ask him what the hell he was doing, right?

Spock saw nothing strange in the way the doctor was behaving towards him. McCoy had his bad days, and worse days, but he had never seen him on a good one. He had no reason to think that maybe others would treat him negatively due to the issues between himself and a certain Communications Officer.

Shifting as directed, Spock brought his attention back to the other, waiting patiently and watching intently. He always found the reflex tests the most interesting. Seeing his body react in a way he had no control over was both fascinating and incredibly disturbing.

McCoy began his reflex tests, being a little less gentle than he would have been with anyone else, pausing after each one to make a note of Spock's reactions. (And I don't know what reflex tests to do so... :P)

Once they were completed, he folded his arms as he looked at him.

"General health questions time. Anything to report?" He paused, his eyes slightly narrowing. "I'm aware you're sexually active, so I'm going to need to conduct the suitable tests. This ship is like a damn whorehouse on the best of days." He had a feeling he'd be dealing with more STDs than any other health issue.

The slight twitches and jerks his body made at the appropriate stimuli made Spock want to shake himself. The Doctor was far too close to him during the majority of it and he had to shift his hands several times to avoid them brushing against the others hands or arms.

"I feel quite sound physically , Doctor." he assured him. The comment on him being sexually active caused one brow to rise, and he stared placidly at the man before him. That comment alone was enough to put him on his guard. He had not been aware of the CMO knowing of his relationship with Nyota. He had no idea that he could have already learned of Charlene.

After a moment he gave his assent by dropping his gaze and fractionally tilting his head down.

He simply got on with his testing, not especially enjoying the closeness between himself and Spock. It was necessary, though. With a sigh, he raised an eyebrow though, his eyes fixing firmly on Spock to watch his reaction.

And that was where he lost a little of his cool.

"You might as well drop your head. You might feel quite sound, but sleeping around behind Nyota's back has earnt you a sexual diseases test," and from the tone of his voice, the way he ground out his words, it wasn't going to be enjoyable for Spock in the least.

The doctors words might have brought up righteous indignation in a human, but Spock merely brought his head up and gave the other a hard look. Quirking a brow, he replied quite calmly. "I have not slept around 'behind her back' as you say. In fact,It was she that went to James Kirk immediately after our conversation, initiating sexual intercourse with him. I made my intentions known, where she did not make hers known to me, making it her that slept around behind mine." he clarified.

Straightening his shoulders, he smoothed his expression again, staring the doctor down. "I will not protest whatever tests you deem it necessary to run." he said, aware now that perhaps he would be receiving a helping of vengeance with his inoculations.

"There's no doubting about it. If I left it to someone else, this medical bay would fall apart," he replied, his lips quirking slightly as he gave her a sideways glance.

"Actually, my physical, I'm hoping my head nurse will conduct for me -- but please, with a gentle bedside manner," he replied.
