WHO: Christine Chapel; Jim Kirk (OPEN/INCOMPLETE) WHAT: Kirk relies on Chris's talented hands. Y'know. To treat his cut. WHEN: After taking off from the starbase. WARNINGS: None as of yet. ( Doctor, doctor, gimme the news, I gotta... )
"I'll make sure and avoid those shifts then. Do myself a favor and just avoid them all together." He shrugged lightly, hissing as she swabbed antiseptic, stinging over the freshly sliced skin. The pain reliever had worked -- it didn't ache nearly as much, but he still felt the sharpness of the cleaning agent and the tingling of the numbing agent. "Besides, I know Bones -- Dr. McCoy never really works the Gamma shift if he can help it." He realized Chris probably didn't know about the nickname, catching himself saying it with practiced ease.
At the disheveled comment, he couldn't help but laugh. Oh, that had been an interesting day. Interesting, sad, and confusing all at once, and he still maintained that nothing compared to that adrenaline rushed handjob exchange between himself and Sulu in -- one of these beds. Could have been this one. "I clean up well," He couldn't help but respond with -- dammit, he was a flirt by nature, and flirting never really hurt anyone, right? He shrugged absently, passing it off as a casual comment. Oh yes, he was modest too.
"You could say that." He smirked in response to her best friends question. "Dr. McCoy's one of the first I ran into when I joined Starfleet." He'd almost thrown up on him, too. What a way to start a friendship. Kirk hardly even looked at Chapel preparing the needle, the pain relieving agent was doing wonders and he didn't dread when she would slide it through the thin skin over the back of his right hand. He didn't notice the blush, either.
"Mm....yeah. Pretty much could say he's my best friend in the world." He leaned back, closing his eyes, already waiting for the first sharp needle to penetrate his skin. As long as he didn't look, he would be fine. "We've been through a lot together." Hell, if he hadn't had Bones, he wouldn't have ever stepped foot on the Enterprise. He owed the guy a lot. He almost nearly asked Chapel if she was the one who had pitched the idea of snuggling after sex to Bones, or if the guy had done it himself -- but decided it would be against the bro code to reveal too many secrets.

"So you better treat 'im right."
