lol omg are they parading now or something? The way the sightings keep piling up, I'm half expecting that when we finally do get pics of them, they'd be sporting matching "I'm with him" tees -
I'd think they'd be using the opportunity for sexy tiems after so long apart (presumably).
Yep poor Zach posts an update from his account about Margin Call and this guy replies with those comments! The main page also has a few posts from people asking whether the rumors about him and Jon are true. I doubt he personally has anything to do with administering his page but his staff must be aware of the stir the sightings are causing by now. Poor guy we all know how much he wants to keep private.
In the last few days I've also read a few comments from people saying that they've 'heard' (from nowhere in particular) that Zach will not be returning to Star Trek... Anyone else heard anything like this? Probably similar rumours floating around about all of the cast :/

They deleted any mention of him being gay from his It Gets Better Project video so I have no doubt his FB will be purged soon enough. However I think that post is his - no capital letters at the begining of the sentence ;)

It might be echo's from last year's misquote. He said he wouldn't do anything related to Trek in the next two years and some people took it to mean he wouldn't be involved in STXII because it would shoot within the next two years. Then Zach clarified that he wouldn't be making public appearances for Trek (eg conventions) but he'd obviously be involved in the movie. I don't know why but this quote seems to have resurfaced lately, I ran into it on some blog a few days ago.

Seriously? That's a pretty lame thing to do. Quite in contrast with him introducing Zach as his boyfriend ...? Although that was presumably to someone he knew personally, not to the general public.
Yeah... And I'm going to pretend that a comment saying something like "How cool of straight guys like Zach to support gay rights" being left there was an oversight, and they meant to delete any mention of Zach's sexuality. Because otherwise, big D:< for Zach and team.
Sean Akers? I always thought he was pretty harmless and living in his own fantasy world (ever since he wrote to that gossip site to kindly take down the pics of Matt Bomer kissing another because they're making Matt sad)
And here I was, thinking Zach was on his way to coming out ...
I don't know who manages that YouTube account. Akers seems like a likely candidate, yes.
I don't want to immediately point fingers, though, because there were thousands of comments on that video. It's possible he just searched for any mention of "gay" to find comments regarding Zach's own sexuality, and didn't realize he were missing the few "he's straight" ones.
I always pictured Zach as coming out when he got into a long-term relationship. Like rather than going, "yes I'm gay" he'd go "yes this is my boyfriend". And since JG is already out, that might mean he's closer to coming out... But between the It Gets Better video comments and this quote from an interview with JG done after he allegedly started dating ZQ, I'm not all that hopeful.
"Jonathan is naturally candid but he shrinks when I mention his love life. 'There are a handful of people I'm close to but otherwise I never talk about who I'm dating.' Last year, he told Broadway.com that he was gay and proud, and he was photographed taking part in a National Equality march in Washington. Today he is more discreet."
That gives me the feeling that rather than JG pulling Zach out of the closet, Zach's pulling JG in. :(

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :(
I love this relationship and not only because it's finally something tangible and doesn't involve any "aspiring actors/actresses" but I have a terrible feeling that if they go this way, it won't end very happily :/
OTOH, if Zach comes out, it's not like he can blame coming out for destroying his movie career since he doesn't really have any (he has Star Trek career and he's already signed on, so ... yeah)
There was this interview a while back (in Spanish) where he was asked how did he think ST would change his career. And he said something like "it won't change much for me, but I think Chris Pine is gonna be the next Brad Pitt" (paraphrasing).
So I think he's not exactly expecting to have this huge movie career or anything?
Maybe he's not expecting to be the next George Clooney, but in Hollywood, you can't even have a low key Sam Rockwell/Mark Ruffalo type career if you're openly gay.
Well, there are two reasons I can think of why Zach would stay closeted.
1) To protect his career. 2) To protect his privacy.
I don't think it's #1 because I think he could have the career he has now if he was openly gay. He doesn't headline big budget action movies (aside from ST) and seems to want to focus on theater and producing. Unless he has aspirations to be a huge A-list action star (which I don't think he does, as per the article inboots linked to), he could come out.
So I think the reason is #2, and what he said to the New York Times fits this. As long as he doesn't outright say "I'm gay", then the mainstream media will consider him closeted. So they will never write about his love life because that would be "outing" him. So being in a glass closet gives him a nice little privacy buffer, he can do what he wants and the press can't touch him - I can see how that might appeal to JG. It's not very "out and proud" of them, but it makes people leave them alone so it might be more tempting than visibility and activism.
If he just wanted to be in theater, then I think he would've come out already. The fact that he's apparently in a long term relationship now with an openly gay actor, but he himself is still not out, makes me think that he's not content with limiting his career options.
Everyone says that he's not looking to be the next Brad Pitt, and therefore should just come out, but the Brad Pitts and Ben Afflecks are not the only ones who would have their careers derailed by it. Ian McKellan is like the only openly gay actor who has a legitimate film career (and that's mostly cause he's old and British). If you want any chance at a career that doesn't just involve TV and comedy/musicals, it's way safer to stay in the closet. Why take the chance if there is no precedent for success?
OTOH, if Zach comes out, it's not like he can blame coming out for destroying his movie career since he doesn't really have any (he has Star Trek career and he's already signed on, so ... yeah)
I think by the time ST came out and could've kick started his film career, he was already too far out of the closet (as in people generally assumed he was gay even if he didn't officially say it). I'm pretty sure that if a straight actor had nailed that part in Star Trek and received terrific reviews for it, he would've gotten loads of movie offers afterwards the way Tom Hardy is getting offered everything right now.
So I would say the gay thing limited his career options from the start because he chose to not be fully in the closet like say, Kevin Spacey or Jodie Foster (back when she was the biggest actress in Hollywood).
I wouldn't be surprised if Paramount is putting some pressure on him to stay quiet or maybe even threaten to reduce his role. Studios are really concerned with every penny they might lose.
(Not sure if this is worth it's own post...)

Hang on. Ok, found it - http://www.decine21.com/entrevistas/zachary-quinto-07052009

Yeah, ok, Idk what's going on, but they're adults, so he most likely talked things through with Groff beforehand.
