the un-catch is that it'll be available all over the net within 15 minutes of transmission. things have definitely moved along since the last episode of Voyager was broadcast.

Yeah, but we want legitimate success for this show. If everybody is torrenting it, nobody's going to keep paying for it to be made.

Tying the new Star Trek show to the success or failure of their pathetic little subscription service. Rage. Rage. Rage.

Exactly my problem. I think it's ridiculous that every television provider thinks they can stand toe-to-toe with Netflix and HBOGo, and using Star Trek to force us to swallow that bitter pill is a pretty nasty trick.

Yeah. Because the thing is, I love Star Trek. But I already have Netflix and HuluPlus, I can't afford another $6/month just for one show. So I won't be able to watch it, and I doubt I'm the only one who will be making that calculation.

So if they don't get enough viewers, and kill it for that reason ... aargh.

If it's just a rehash of the 60s series, but with new characters, I'm not interested.

Agreed, but thankfully that's not the impression I get. They did say new characters...

I'm probably going to watch it even if it turns out to be CSI: Starfleet Command.
