It having been one of those days in one of those weeks in one of those months, I stopped by a local restaurant/ice cream shop after work to buy some delicious ice cream goods on a stick.
It had been a very long day and surprisingly exhausting in the last few hours.
I brought my bag of ice cram treats up to the till.
The woman behind the till said "Hello!"
I said "Hel - pant - lo."
The woman laughed and said it sounded like I had a long day.
"Very," I confirmed, embarrassed.
"Well, the good thing about today is that it's the beginning of a long weekend!"
I agreed that this was true, even though I know this establishment doesn't close for stat holidays and is open long hours. I thanked her for the reminder and said I hoped they wouldn't be too busy this weekend.
"What happens happens," she said with a smile and handed me my change. "Have a good weekend, sweetheart."
There are people of such gentle, glowing positivity that they should be made national treasures.
