More fanart. SOMEONE was speculating as to the reasons for the previous drawing. This is not as terrible as I thought it might be when I was doing the bulk of the work last night. Ame no Uzume, however, is a tricky lady to draw. Continue to suffer from an inability to draw proper anatomy. Also once again far too busy with poor composition, perspective, and an inability to realize that sloppy linework does not really belong in drawings that attempt any kind of complexity in detail.
However, less unfortunate and more wonderful is Recettear, a Japanese doujin JRPG where you play a young girl ... running an item shop in order to keep her house from being possessed by loan sharks. It's darling and addictive and the localisation (the company's first) is of quite a high quality. Defeat enemies customers by selling them items at a markup for you to reach maximum profit! Befriend adventurers and tag along in the hopes they survive a dungeon and you can sell random drops in the store the next day! Wonder why someone's grandmother left them a single piece of wrapped candy as an heirloom to only sell in the direst of circumstances!
Currently there's only a demo out, but it's a very playable demo that I've now played through several times, trying to perfect things in the week the demo gives you. It also left me wanting to buy and play the full game, which will hopefully see release next month.
Sadly, it is not Mac compatible, which means Mac users and I cannot share the joy of capitalism in adorable RPG form, but really, that is something we both must suffer and endure.
