Why would you do this?

Let's Positive Thinking: TCM's New Year's Eve marathon is THIN MAN. William Powell is doing my drinking for me. (Alternately, for those who drink - your drinking game of the evening is to drink whenever William Powell has a drink.)

One of my Christmas presents was a huge magazine collection of cookie recipes. Some of these look very promising. But others are questionable. And some go beyond questionable. For instance, this recipe for "Chocolate Cake Cookies", which has an ingredient list as follows:
1 package chocolate fudge cake mix
2 packages instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Even at the best of times, I cannot find it in myself to approve of recipes which include "[insert blank here] mix" (if you're going to do this, why not just buy those revolting tubes of instant cookie dough - just add water and shake!).

But /mayonnaise/? I don't even like the idea of putting mayonnaise on a sandwich. The idea of putting it into something that's meant to be enjoyable is repulsive enough that I felt compelled to blog about it.

Also, yes, yes, the 2009 Year In Review stuff.

In January I started a new job and held it the entire year, which is a huge first for me.

In February I sought treatment for ongoing medical problems. This is a work in progress.

The beginning of March saw me finally moved out of my sketchy ghettopartment and into a townhouse where creepy old men will have to expend some effort to peek into my bedroom.

Nothing else remarkable happened until October, when I took in a certain fluffy kitten who was too young to be away from her mother and had been thrown out of a car on Broadway.

I didn't achieve anything of note creatively, in either writing or art, but maybe the new decade will see a change of that. It's hard to imagine it will be /worse/.
