Truly a fun-filled weekend
I have been awake since 10:30 or so and have been diligently slogging through one of the sloppiest Ninja and Roommate stories, trying to prune and rewrite it into something readable. I finally got to the end of it (and after that is a story that I'm going to toss entirely except to maybe go through and see if there are any decent lines I can pull and stick elsewhere). It's 8 PM. My brain is a fried mess.
And that is only /fifty-seven/ pages out of several hundred (several many lots hundred - four or five, I think, although the formatting is wonky and the results of printing from a number of different WPs, so it's not - nearly - as daunting as it sounds and appears).
Ninja and Roommate now contains 100% less hookers, though.
I want a manuscript I can fine tune as soon as possible, and less with the burn, raze, and complete rewrite editing I'm doing right now. I foresee a lot of weekends like this in my future.
Writers are insane masochists and my fingers are liberally smeared with red ink. Goddamn you cheap ballpoint pen.
Totally worth it, though. Totally.
... I'm going to go eat something now, though. Guh.
