Also, you have a tiny penis

Today, for the first time in the two months I have worked at my telephone-related job, I nearly started crying on the phone.

This is strange, because today I spent all day calling people for a survey related to a recently purchased product from company X. It is, basically, a customer satisfaction survey. It involves six questions. It takes no more than two minutes. Less, if we're efficient and on the page and don't stray into other areas. This is nothing compared to some things we do, which can have a person on the phone for over twenty minutes.

Most people, of course, do not like being called for surveys. Sometimes they will ask questions about the surveys. Sometimes they will just hang up. Sometimes they will ask to be taken off the call list, with varying degrees of politeness. They do not, however, usually verbally berate me and ask me questions about how much I earn at my job. In fact, I don't believe anyone's ever asked me that. Certainly not three times in a row.

And if they did, I would not expect them to then begrudgingly agree to participate in the survey, although as things progressed it became apparent that he'd agreed just so he would have an excuse to verbally abuse me between questions.

At the end of a call that took a whole /three minutes/ - double the time it would have due to his pressing need to be as much of a jackass as possible - I was told that the experience of speaking with me had been soul draining and he expected financial compensation for the minutes of his life that he had wasted and would never be able to get back.

Sir? Most people who don't want to do a survey just hang up the fucking phone.
