10 [video; fail filter to Tyr]

Jul 22, 2011 23:25

[Outside in the snow, there's +1 Ted walking. He's wearing his usual clothes, his scarf high above his chin and his blue tunic dusted by snow. He seems really accustomed to different kinds of weather as obvious by the way the cold doesn't seem to deter him. He wipes off the snow from his device when he pulls it out from his pocket and addresses it ( Read more... )

[ Tyr is staying inside, getting some use out of his long-sleeved shirts again. Ted didn't really need to check; Tyr almost guessed as much. He likes having it confirmed, though. ]

...Thanks, Ted. Sorry for making you go out like this.

No, it's fine. I would have still checked, anyway. [A thoughtful, worried pause. He knows just how hard this is for Tyr.]

How are you holding up?

I'm fine. [ Which was mostly true. ] He's just gone back home, and he's probably better off for it...

[He believes his best friend, but he still can't help but worry. Gremio mentioned that he also died in the future. What if...] I'm still sorry this has to happen, Tyr.

[ Firmly yet dismissively: ] It happens to everyone. No-one stays here forever...

[ He settles more into his blankets. Usually he'd say something to break the mood and distract himself (and Ted), but that won't work now. With Gremio and Riou gone, Tyr has to wonder if one of them will be next. ]

... You should come back before you catch a cold. [ Nevermind he'd be out there and let Gremio fuss over him if he was here. He bets Riou would drag him out and Tyr would drag out Ted... ] This sudden temperature shift can't be good for us.

[After a brief pause.] Alright, I'll head back. [Ted is actually thinking the same thing. What if one of them leaves suddenly? It's unfair. He has to stay goodbye, at least.

But he won't dwell on that any longer. As promised, he's now making his way back to their apartment.] Do you think this temperature shift will last long?

[ He's glad Ted is heading back. He feels a bit bad that he's not out there with him, but would even Ted be in the mood to go out and have fun now? Tyr didn't know.

In any case, he shakes his head to Ted's question. ] Probably not any longer than a normal curse. This happened last year, too.

[Well, he might not be in the mood but he's not going to dwell on Gremio leaving for long. Maybe later his mood will brighten enough to cheer Tyr up. For now, he'll just start coping with their loss.]

Really? So, it's like a yearly thing, then. Did it last for more than a day?

[ He wants to ask Ted something later. The way things are going, it almost seems inevitable. ]

Maybe. [ A year is a long time. ] It's either one day or two.

[He nods.] Mm, I see. I just hope it won't get worse. [It doesn't take that long for him to arrive to their apartment building and before Tyr's doorstep.]

[ Tyr calls both to the door and the device, not bothering to move. ] You can come in. You don't need a personal escort now, do you?

Of course not. That, and I have the key anyway. [He grabs it from his pocket, opens the door and lets himself inside. Of course, he shakes off some snow outside before entering.]

I hoped you wouldn't lose it. I can't just leave the door unlocked here.

[ Tyr is glad even though Gremio isn't there to fuss over it. Like arriving all over again, Tyr thinks of Gremio and how he'd keep house and what he'd want from Tyr. It might even be a while yet before he gets used to Gremio not having dinner ready in the evening and he doesn't rush home to keep him from worrying.

Tyr was that sort of guy in the future. And as he rested in bed, sitting up now with his blanket over his legs, he thought how hard it was to pretend to still be the kid that befriended Ted. ]

I definitely won't.

[He can tell just how much this is affecting Tyr more than the other lets on. Gremio's very important to him; he knows it'd be a difficult road of getting used to things. Arriving in Tyr's room, Ted smiles for him, a soft wistful smile, as he takes a seat on the edge of the bed.]

You feeling cold?

[ He leans over and flips the sheet over Ted. ]

Nah. I thought you would be, so I warmed it up.

I'm used to the cold. [And to other kinds of weather too. He grabs the sheet with a grin and tosses it back to Tyr.] Anyway, you should warm up. I'll see what I can find to make some soup or something.
