Some five months or so back,
I posted five of the best and worst personally-new finds in the grocery store, and it's time for the Summer 2007 version of this thing! I guess I was surprised to discover I'd purchased ten "new" things in the past six months. So here we go!

The Worst of Groceries - Spring/Summer 2007 )
I haven't purchased whey protein in a while, so haven't noticed the increase, but that might be interesting next time I go. Maybe my brand throws artificial wood shavings in to keep costs down.
I think I actually have Reduced Fat Bisquick. I don't really make stuff very often, so I suppose I don't realize what I'm missing. I mean, I don't currently seem to have enough time to make awesome things, so making it from scratch really wasn't in the original plan anyway.
I have no input on the tofu brands and preparation. I think Luke usually does a decent job with it, though. I suppose if you find a good brand, marinating might do a lot.
Speaking of eating wood... at least use a healthy (or unhealthy) amount of salt to cover it up. I mean, Triscuits are an awesome cracker. But, all crackers should be salty and/or buttery. Even then, I suspect a Club or Ritz wouldn't be nearly as good without salt.
I like The Works, both toilet bowl and shower/bathroom cleaner versions. It really does work. Yea, thanks HCl. For an extra level of clean, add bleach. It might even clean you off the map. So, yea, really, don't. But, I'm sure you already knew that. I still am curious if it makes it extra sparkling clean, though.
I think Luke has been cooking with fennel as of late. I'm interested to try something with it. It sounds pretty interesting. And, well, I like licorice, so bonus!
White merlot? I'm intrigued, as I probably would have said the same thing here about wine.
Quinoa is awesome. "Chisaya mama", "mother of all grains". I love the slightly nutty flavor, and it seems to cook just fine in a rice cooker. Very easy. Well, I guess easy because the quinoa we can buy already has the bitter coating washed off. Pretty neat defense against birds though, I guess. Peru and Bolivia are the top producers, FYI. I'm definitely with you on this one. The Incas didn't call it chisaya mama for nothing!
I can't imagine what wouldn't be to love about cinnamon on a cracker. It would be sort of like cinnamon toast crunch, but in a less airy, hors d oeuvres appropriate format. Woo hoo!

...less evil form! I hate Cinnamon Toast Crunch, because when it looks at milk, it turns soggy. But these Wheat Thins are indeed excellent.
