Wednesday - Rad Ink?Show us your tattoo, or the one you would get if you were going to get one and tell us why.
I do have a tattoo, but no way to take a decent photo of it. Maybe when my wife gets back. But, anyway.. I wanted a tattoo in college... always had the itch, but never the nerve. And, then I had the constant mind-changing of what would be cool, what could I live with in 30 years, etc.
Once I moved to Chicago, and made it through training and was on the squad, I managed to find some nerve. Specifically, it came after my first big fire - the rush of the night, the fear, the excitement --not that a family losing their home is exciting in any way!!-- I realized that if I had the nerve to send myself into a burning building, I shouldn't be afraid of a stupid needle.
I'm an EMT for God's sake!
Anyway, I finally worked up the nerve, and a few of the guys from the station went with me - they thought it might be a fun "team" thing (and two slept on the couch for a week. HA!) and I got inked.
No regrets or anything, because it's ME. It's half a half-sleeve; sort of a Northern Washington-tribal design (where I'm from) and I like it. And that's my story!
