Ten was walking with Fraser. It was December. She sneezed due to the chill in the air and then stopped and blinked curiously.
"Benton. What's that? I've seen them before but...what is it?" She pointed towards a window display of a very homey looking shop. There was a Christmas tree decorated in the front window.
Fraser gave it a close look and in less than five seconds had identified the tree. "By the number of needles and the pine cones that are pointing up I would say it's an Abies fraseri. It's unusual that they have it here due to the fact that they grow in the mountains east of here..."
"Benton. I don't want to interrupt but...I'm cold. I just want to know why they decorated it. It's weird," Ten now going by Miranda says while her nose wrinkles up. "It seems wasteful."
"Ah," Fraser stops in his lecture to wonder how to proceed. "It's a Christmas tree, Miranda. It seems early. It's only the fifth. But it's a holiday many people celebrate."
Miranda gives him a puzzled look. She did notice though that after Thanksgiving which had been a very strange holiday to learn about from Fraser and people who knew him. Well it looked like she had a new holiday to question him about. She just had to work up the energy to listen to not just him but everyone else who knew him as well.
At least it was interesting.
