I always did want to write my autobiography...or is that my deceptibiography?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they ( Read more... )

*chuckles at him* The more the universes differ, the more they seem the same, don't they?

The odd thing was, the government kept blaring about how they were dangerous rebels, but we were so jaded by then that we all thought the media was exaggerating--when they were actually understating the problem.

*crooked grin* I've always been interested in history, but I've never heard it from a Decepticon's point of view before.

I didn't start out that way, which is probably even more interesting. Most Decepticons come out of the factory with pre-programmed biases--well, most except Starscream.

So do most Autobots, I guess. It took me a while to outgrow mine.

You had Galvatron's help for that, I believe. *quiet smirk*

....heh. *rueful grin* No, it kinda started when I saw the Decepticons on Charr, when Galvatron was... was missing.

*hmm. A story for a story - fair trade.* Kup, Magnus and Spike were kidnapped during the Galactic Games one year. We all thought it was the Decepticons, so Grimlock and I went to Charr.

I saw there... the 'Cons were starving, near-famine conditions. I'd never seen them like that, and I've never forgotten it. *tips head up at you with a wan smile* Is it foolish of me to have felt a little guilty?

I'm not sure...

*studies him thoughtfully* I always did think you made a better Autobot than Optimus Prime. Better leader, that is something for history to decide. But a better Autobot.

You empathize even with your enemies. Optimus Prime felt that.

You put him up on a pedestal, but his cruelty to Decepticons was as great as that of your most hardened soldiers.

You empathize even with your enemies. Optimus Prime failed at that.

You put him up on a pedestal, but his cruelty to Decepticons was as great as that of your most hardened soldiers.

*shrugs* I shot at those starving Decepticons. I'm no less guilty.

Were they attacking you first?

Well, technically, but Grimlock and I did infiltrate their stronghold. Such as it was.
