"West Wing"? Sounds kind of boring... but we don't get very good TV reception. Especially when out in deep space. Unicron really messes up the signals too.

*mildly* Give the guy a break, Thrust. It sounds a lot like being a student to me, and GCSEs didn't leave a lot of time for anything else. I'm guessing that was like what 'Buster had to do, only not so full-time.

That's just it. If he's a student, they should be educating him on the culture and slang of the planet. It's one of the things that the War Academy is currently lacking.

I think they're mainly concerned about keeping their students alive, rather than being able to talk the talk.

A valid point. But I'd think even a brief cultural lesson would be invaluable for dealing with the natives.

*nods, taking that in* Well, if you do need a hand with the slang or just wierd things humans do, there're plenty of humans - or ex-humans *grins* - that'd be perfectly willing to help out. Nobody should expect you to know everything right from the off, anyway.

That wasn't really fair of Optimus to just drop you in at the deep end, though - if you didn't have the training or the experience, how did he expect you to cope?

Because I had 'promise'. And well, I was pretty much partnered up with Kicker to start with, just to get more familiar with it all that way from the experience. No matter how much I hated the idea at first!

*pulls a face* And being paired up with him was supposed to help? He doesn't seem like the most patient or helpful of people to start off with.

*headtilts* His sister seemed nice, though, what little I saw of her, but that could just be my prejudices showing. I don't have much patience with loud guys in general.

I didn't understand it either.. but Jetfire told me Optimus had his reasons. That that most partners aren't made cause we were friends to begin with... but cause we got differences we had to learn how to work out. His strategy to making the team work together as one. Didn't seem like Kicker was getting that idea.. but he was, especially when I needed to be reminded of that the most.

Cause like... with the Cons, they were all pretty much scrapping for themselves. They didn't care about each other... just what Megatron would do to them if they failed. We don't want to be like that.
