I really meant to do this sooner, but. XD;;; Well, see, my cousin/boss has been sick since Friday with a fever of 102 that hasn't broken yet, so I've been working nonstop ever since I got home! ♥ Poor Juli... the doctors can't figure out what's wrong with her, but she might wind up in the hospital at this rate.
... and this Webkinz obsession is very frightening.
As is the fact that yesterday was my first time EVER playing with sparklers. I know, I had an awful childhood.
But enough about that! Time for Kia's Epic Adventure at AX! And I'm not lying when I said it was epic. XD
Day One- I was the first one at the airport (at 6:45 AM, no less!) and it wasn't too hard to check my bag in and get everything in order. And then I wound up waiting until 8 for Val, Keyna, and Henry to show up. Which they did, but then they had to check THEIR bags and the line for security had LOOPED AROUND.
No, wait, it gets better.
The lady at the front told me I had the wrong boarding thing, so I had to run back and reprint it (with Val and Keyna's moms standing behind me as moral support or something? XD) and then dash back through the line.
As a result, I had twenty minutes to book it to our gate and board the plane before the flight took off. It was an epic run, no lie. And the plane... was tiny. AND IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AIR. I'm not even kidding. We were flying and then suddenly we weren't moving and it was all silent. Then we were moving again, but geez, that was a little... scary.
Made it to Long Beach in one piece, went to the hotel, met up with Rosie (white_ookami), and then had a GREAT time trying to figure out how to get to the convention center, since... it's a bit too far away to walk and the shuttle had just left when we arrived. We couldn't even take our suitcases to our room because we couldn't check in til 3.
We finally snagged a shuttle at noon and... yes, 2-3 hour wait in line for prereg. (Rosie, you're such a brat for mocking those poor people when we finally got through. XD) And I finally got to meet Ken-chan! (clocklike) She's so adorable and sweet and the music mix she gave me rocks. ♥ So much love for her.
Hung with Rosie and my male dork twin for a bit, then caught up with Val and co and we went to a pizza place-- where I discovered that Keyna was in tears because she couldn't call her boyfriend without Roaming on her phone, so she'd borrowed mine to let him know, and he'd accused her of sleeping around with people at the con and the no service thing was an excuse.
.... well, I'm afraid I got a little pissed at the guy and left a message on his phone politely explaining that Keyna was upset about all of this and she really WAS trying to contact him.
By the time we'd gone to watch the first Death Note movie, I'd gotten seven text messages ranging from him thanking me for letting Keyna use my phone... to calling me a bitch and a slut. 8D
Keep in mind I hadn't said a word to him yet.
AND THEN HENRY STOLE MY PHONE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE.
Which meant that now he was texting insults to Henry and me on my phone. And Keyna. I refused to let her see them, though.
Gradually, we all left, so they could get ready for the tea party event and I could sit upstairs and wait. Keyna's boyfriend called this time and after that, I just turned my phone off for awhile and had a good silent cry because... dunno. I was upset?
And that was when two guys were heard singing... yes. Things happened and they wound up sitting next to me. The following is a true story.
Guy: Pug plushie.
Me: ... huh? Oh. Yes.
Guy #2: You know, a friend of mine said she was going to AX with a pug on her head. She posted it in her LJ.
Me: ... *having a brief second of OMG I WAS COPIED?*
Guy #2: Pug Princess.
Me: .... Who are you?
Guy #2: Lee.
Me: I'm Kia.
Both of Us: ...........
Yep, it was afromatic. XD IT WAS COMPLETELY RANDOM AND MADE OF AWESOME and he and his friend cracked me up while we waited in line. Also made friends with the girls in front of us, and we sang Avenue Q songs. 8D And discussed Narutards.
Girl: People think it's cosplaying when you buy the headband and put it on. That's not cosplaying.
Me: That's half-assed!
And then around 2:00, we caught a taxi back to the hotel, trudged upstairs and collapsed. No lie, we just sort of keeled over.
And I had to turn my phone off again, because the boyfriend was still enthusiastically insulting me.
2-4 will be covered tomorrow. XD;; In which Kia wins a DVD and is so scarred by it that she gives it away at the info booth, the Masquerade is watched, we find out how it feels like to be sardines, and we also find out that watching the second Death Note movie is impossible when the fangirls keep screaming every time L eats candy.
But I am very tired, so. D: To bed~
