I went through my folders (online and offline) and realised I have a lot of junk... so, I guess I'll continue dividing them into separate posts by subject.
Hetalia (sort of) x 9
German family, + random eyebrows
...it's kind of horrible, also makes the journal layout even more annoying cos some of the pics are huge ahahhahahahh I'm sorry

I love the drawings with Austria, the big strokes of the violon combined with the thin strokes of the character, all with the coloring give such an intensity in the drawing *__*
I never use photoshop, but open canvas, it's more intuitive and I like how you can easily blend colors. Try different programs if you are not comfortable with just one. You"ll surely find one that you like. It takes time to adapt with cg, so it's normal =)
I think that you already know that improvement comes with time and practice and when you try a lot of different things. I think that you improved in coloring, because I can feel a lot of things now with your new paintings (haha, this sentence sounds weird XD). Lots of emotions and "something" I can't really describe, haha. So it's cool, keep up the good work starstray, I'm sure you'll improve a lot more, you already improved a lot o/
Also, I feel like a crap when I see your drawings, but at the same time, it makes me want to improve so much. Each time you post, I always think that you are amazing. Thanks for sharing your works, it always makes my day =D

I used mainly watercolour, ink and aquarelle pencil but for Austria's final image I used yellow acrylic for the texture. Some places I also used gold designer's gouache.
I love impressionist paintings :D I hope I can reproduce their energy and colours one day, even in digital paint. Musée d'Orsay was a really wonderful place, I much preferred it to the Louvre ^^;;
I use photoshop because of the limitations of my macbook, if I was on a PC I would want to try SAI and openCanvas! I tried Painter, but I still prefer photoshop + offline work... I find that cg really tests my patience -_- and it's uncomfortable to work on a laptop @_@
WHAT DO YOU MEAN CRAP I took some of the colour combos from your watercolour images xD especially the blue-green-yellow combo which I didn't use before this. I like to look at your watercolours because they have a very natural and fresh feeling to the tones. We can become symbiotic and feed off of each other then.

Yes, I saw some textures from Austria's paintings, I was wondering if it was acrylic X.3. Now that you mention gold paint, I just realized that it was you that made the black and gold sketchbook. I thought you bought it, you are amazing *__* !! I'd like to do bookbinding one day, it looks so cool to do !! Though I doubt I'll have enough patience, haha.
Yeah, I hope I could put so many emotions and life like impressionist artists too. I'm sure you'll succeed doing it even in cg. After all, it's just a tool, so like other tools, it takes time to master it X3
Even if I liked the Louvre for the giant paintings and ancient civilizations works, Orsay affected me a lot more on the emotional side. God, I nearly cried in front of some paintings, like the one of Van Gogh. It's really weird to see the big difference between the painting printed on a book and the actual thing, haha.
Ho, I didn't know that you can't use many softwares when you have a mac :/
Wait, y-you use a tablet when doing cg, right ? Not a mouse ?
I MEAN WHAT I MEAN. YOU ARE SO AMAZING. HOW COULD I NOT FEEL LIKE A CRAP WHEN SEEING YOUR WORKS ? Hooo, I feel very honored then *3* Haha, love blue/green/yellow combo, and if you add purple, it's perfect !
I am very glad that you feel that way for my watercolors, it makes me so happy, haha.
Yeah o/ ! I hope you don't mind that I take some of your inking techniques then ;p
