I am not surprised with your decision as I feel that it is a good one. For me though, this is only strike two against 6A's erosion of Brad's vision. Now that I have a permanent account, I am wondering if it was worth the investment.

Exactly! This is a huge part of what pisses me off. It's not just the mass deletion in and of itself. I've tried to accept LJ under 6A's leadership as opposed to Brad's, but they keep making decisions I find at least objectionable, and at most unconscionable. I was mad when they started introducing Plus Accounts, sponsored communities, and other forms of advertising onto LJ, but I've stuck with it. I seriously considered leaving when they banned icons that had-- oh noes!-- nipples in them and/or portrayed breastfeeding, but I stuck around. But this? This, I'm not going to get over.

Have you figured out what you're going to use to run that there blog? I've been doing some investigating of CMSes and I can point you in a direction (don't know if it will be the right one) if you're still looking at your options.

The plan is to use a Wordpress blog, since all the blogs on my friend Chris' domain are run by Wordpress. Why? What suggestions do you have?
