08/16/09: BEST DAY EVER Y/Y?
Hey guys, so in case you didn't know.. I went to this concert last night. ;)
OMG BEST NIGHT EVAR.
I'm gonna put the whole thing under a cut because I took like 300 pictures over the course of the day. So I'm going to post some of the better ones along with the 2 vids I took. There will be rambling and impressions throughout.
Pre-show
So I got to the barricades at like 2pm because I woke up late and then was freaking out at my laptop when I got the chance at those floor tickets. I had missed Sarver apparently and people were kinda milling around and looking bored. Which made me wonder if I'd missed everything entirely. Except then Danny and Matt came out together. I was standing behind these 2 women and some hardcore Danny fans so I was worried I wouldn't get them to sign anything. Except they were nice and I got both to sign this notebook I brought with me. :D

The ladies in front of me let me sneak in so I could get this pic.
Then they told us that no one else was coming out and that they were going to set up the barricades inside after the show because where we were was basically one of the bus ramps down under the XL Center. So I went off to the mall to check the email/twitter/ontd_ai. Left the mall at 5 to get parking and wait to get in.
They finally let us in, I bought a program and a picture of Adam and it was off to the FLOOR.My seat was awesome. 11 rows back on the left aisle of the front center section.
The place was really slow to fill up. Right up to the start of the show I felt like there just weren't many people in there. Although luckily that changed real quick once the concert started.
CONCERT OMG
This is the part where I stayed on my feet for the whole time and freaked out continuously.
SARVER
The start of the concert was really sudden so I wasn't really ready. But he got us all on our feet. He got a pair of panties from some girls in the second row and waved them around. He tried to throw them off stage but the got stuck on something so he had to crouch down to re-pick them up to throw them properly off. It was kinda silly. His 2 songs were over soooo fast though.

MEGAN
I think of all 10, Megan's performance left the least impact on me. Don't get me wrong, she was great. But it was the least memorable somehow. There were two guys a few rows in front of me who shot up as soon as she came out and were waving tons and yelling. It made me LOL a little. Also, those hot pink strappy shoes.. totally hot. (right around here is where I realized that stage lights are the devil and my camera is not that great)
SCOTT
As I said on Twitter, I was unexpectedly charmed by Scott. He sounds so great live and I had so much fun singing along obnoxiously to the Vanessa Carlton song. His joking was kinda awkward-sauce but it was cute. However the piano and lighting made pictures... difficult at best.
LIL
She totally rocked out. I have no clue where that came from. Guys a few rows ahead were right back on their feet. (I wonder who they were there for, hmm?) Totally fierce shoes (this tour is now dubbed Tour With Fierce Shoes). Single Ladies was cute and bouncy. BEHOLD THE LONE TWO GOOD PICS I GOT OF HER
ANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
My first thought when he got on stage. Wow he looks good. There was SO MUCH LOVE for him in that arena. Like, damn Hartford ilu. And his voice. Just.. amazing. The fierce shoes trend continued. And his tie was some form of plaid. I want it so bad. I have a tie... thing.

Okay so I'm going to fess up and say that I didn't think Matt was hot until the concert happened. I don't know what changed. But GODDAMN the man can rock the shit out of a piano!! I was seriously impressed. Georgia on my Mind made me a little mellow, but I stayed standing. And stared around in dismay as people around me started sitting down. *shakes head* At one point he pulled out the hat all like "oh look what I brought" and there was a huge cheer. <3

Can I just say that I LOVE all the lighting they did for this show even if it made pictures difficult.
GROUP SONG
This was so beautifully combined. Everyone had their showcase and just... I love the way it all came together. Somewhere around here I realized that it was almost half over and wanted to know why it had gone so fast! And the pianos!! THE PIANOS! Loved it. No jackets dropped but Sarver definitely unbuttoned his partway through the song.
Getting pics of the girls was not easy.

INTERMISSION
I bolted out of my seat to try and get to the bathroom. Ended up in front of two women in the line who were discussing who was next. They couldn't remember ANYONE'S names. The one didn't know Lil was "the black one". lulz. I had to tell them the name of the top 4 and the order. They were amazed I knew that Slow Ride was in the middle of Adam's set (welcome to the internets ladies). I had my nails done in deep blue sparkle and the one commented like "that looks like an Adam Lambert thing". And I was like, um.. I've had this color for ages actually. Then I sat back down to fidget anxiously and try not to focus on my heart trying to pound its way out of my mouth.
There was a woman and little boy next to me. The little boy had spent the whole time standing on the chair taking pictures and she was telling him how he needed to yell loud. I leaned over and told him that he had to yell loud enough for all of us (my throat was hurting by this point). This would later be ironic when I spend the entire last half freaking out loudly. (yes lady next to me, I saw you shooting me those looks)
ALLISON
Ok really?! Allison totally floored me. I still can't believe she's 17. I'm not the biggest fan of So What in general, but Cry Baby was just... no words. And I love how active she was, bouncing around stage. I took a full vid of Barracuda to get the full effect of her action. Loved how she interacted with the guitarist!
DANNY
I was always fairly indifferent towards Danny. There was a LOT of love for him. I saw so many girls with shirts for him. Signs. It was crazy. He clearly means a lot to his fans. And he made me like him at the concert. Although the first thing I noticed when he got on stage... there is a pocket on the back bottom right of his jacket. And it confuses me. RANDOM POCKET IS RANDOM. Also, I like Maria Maria in general so I was definitely rocking out and singing along for that whole song. Even with the silly dancing. His little speech thing was touching. Totally didn't know it was his wife's bday, that makes me a little sad
The stage lights hated me for his set.
OHMYFUCK ADAM
This is about the point where I lost my mind and just screamed. Some girls rushed up the aisle and were screaming. They got told off by some older lady to the left and just ahead of me. It was kinda lame. I'm a little surprised I didn't just cry. The screaming was.. intense. AND HE SOUNDED SOOOO GOOD. The recordings are just.. nothing on hearing it live. I remember seeing an interview where he said that they tend to save their voices till the end of 3-4 day runs because they know they'll have a day off. Totally true since he went all out with the notes. AND THE DANCING IS ONE HUNDRED TIME MORE PORNOGRAPHIC IN PERSON. He does this like... hip swing/wiggle that just... yea. Starlight was awesome. I filmed Mad World because it's my favorite song from his studio recordings and I wanted my own copy. The camera is a bit shaky.. I think it was because I was shaking. xD THERE WAS A BOA. HARTFORD IS NOT USELESS. And he was all like "thaaaaank you *strut strut*" and I died a little bit. A bra during Slow Ride. (damn me for not being fast enough to photograph it). I didn't think it was possible for me to love him more. And yet here we are. (I think like a fifth of the pics I took are from his set lol)

I was still freaking out at this point and I think I was screaming louder. Because. Just. KRIS!!!!!!!!! And the Heartless started and *flail*. Although I will always giggle a little when he says 'homies' in that song. Stage lighting was the worst for him since they did so much spotlight focus on him. But it meant soaking it all in better. I was annoyed at the people around me though because a bunch of people sat down. I know the songs are a bit slower.. but really?! Kris Allen is singing and you are sitting down?! Bright Lights destroyed my mind because Matchbox 20 = awesome. Sang along with Hey Jude and got a lot of really odd looks from the woman next to me. Which of course led right into the end. But first, Kris pics!

And then the end of Hey Jude got here and I was all like, DDDDD: BUT WHY CANT WE KEEP PARTYING LIKE THIS?! DSB was AMAZING. You better believe I was singing along at the top of my lungs and flailing with the flashy light I'd bought at intermission. Kradam dance was kinda weird and I feel like I blinked and Sarvered on it a bit. Granted I was so hyped up that it's all such a blur.

AND THEN THE CONCERT WAS OVER AND FOUGHT THROUGH THE CROWD TO TRY AND GET TO WHERE THEY SET UP THE BARRICADES.
AFTER-SHOW
Right around here is where my body realized that I was drenched, dehydrated.. and the only food I'd eaten ALL day was a sandwich at Au Bon Pain and a green tea lemonade. WAY TO GO SELF. I ended up maybe 3 people away from the front? Sarver, Anoop, Matt, Danny and Kris came out to sign. There were girls with 'Sex Me Up Sarver' and 'Sarver 4 President' signs. There was a girl with an 'I just had an ADAMGASM' sign. It was a madhouse. I managed to get Sarver and Kris to sign my program book. People in front were really good about taking things for people in the back so they could get things signed too. :) It made me hopeful.
CUTE MATT STORY
There was this cute little blonde girl wearing a black fedora in front of me with her mother. When Matt came around, he didn't stop long enough to see her and the poor girl looked really sad about it. But they stayed and waited for him to come back. When he did, mom hoisted this little girl up and we were all yelling "MATT!!!" and he looked up and saw her. So he came right up to the barricade and was like "I like your hat I have one just like it!!" And the mom was telling him how the little girl was a huge fan. (She may have gotten a hug, I don't remember). And when he walked away, this little girl had the BIGGEST HAPPIEST grin on her face. it made my heart melt a little bit. <3

And then the told us all to go home lol. I stumbled hazily to my car and somehow managed to not die on the way home. And then I drank like a liter of water and fought with Photobucket and YouTube until 4am!
IN CONCLUSION:
I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL KRIS, ALLISON, ADAM, WHOEVER GO ON SOLO TOURS BECAUSE I WANT TO BE FRONT AND CENTER ROCKING OUT TO WHATEVER THEY COME UP WITH.
