Last week was much too long what with going to work earlier than usual and being busy.
Wednesday was by far the longest though. I woke up at 6:45 so that I could get to UCONN by 8:30. From there I went to Mystic where I got to watch them bleed beluga whales!! zomg. It was awesome. We had to walk out to the platforms in the middle of the tanks and they called them over. So I got to help rock tubes full of blood and watch. It was raining and I got soaked, but it was worth it. But then it was a full day of processing stuffs and preparing things. I didn't leave until like 6...
Then Thursday was fun adventures with trying to get my chemicals to dissolve properly. First of all, the stuff is a really fine powder and hard to measure out. Sticks to everything. And then we almost didnt have enough solvent cuz no one bothered to tell anyone that we were running low. And *then* it didnt dissolve at the concentration I wanted to so we had to add more solvent. THEN we found out that it sticks very happily to plastic and doesn't come off. Something a problem when using plastic weigh boats, tubes and pipettes.. Yeah. So I ended the day not knowing if i was gonna have anything to work with next week.
Friday was short, but I was already so tired from the previous days. Turns out the chemicals will dissolve if you heat the solution up. So I prepared my final concentrations and all was well. Then I visited RezWeb till Kate got up to UCONN and we went to the Dairy Bar.
*sigh* Other things making the week a pain have included my car situation. The Honda went to the garage a week and a half ago. The other day I asked my parents about it. Apparently the cost to fix it was going to be significantly more than $1000 so they decided to donate it. Without telling me. So I found this out and was not happy. Because now I need to go back into car-search mode again. I'd wanted a car by the end of June. Well.. hello July.... We have to drop my sister off at Avery Point next Sunday so I want to drag my parents over to the used car place near Jacob's and make them help me find something because this is just ridiculous now. Unfortunately, if we have to drop my sister off early, it's entirely possible that they wont want to because the final World Cup game is at 2pm that day, and theyre crazy obssessed. Meh.
