I literally beat it in three days.
First impressions from reading that will be, "It's not hard?".
And my answer is.... Somewhat.
Things you must worry about:
1. 50 Black phantoms invading your games in shrine of storms.
2. not having a good amount of stamina, NOR a shield.
3. moving around like any idiot and not being cautious.
I started off as a wanderer and began the game. First day, I died a LOT. Lost my souls and turned the game off like, "What is this I don't even" then the next day I basically obliterated boss after boss.
BOSSES are difficult, but if you understand their patterns, they get easy. If you have another competent blue phantom helping you, a boss is honestly cake.
HOWEVER. New game +, I ran in thinking I was cocky and got it handed to me. SHIT DOES GET HARDER IN THE NEXT CYCLES. I've faced some bosses so far and they can still hand the asswhooping to me. The game sticks to your level and hands it to you, so you will have to always be CAUTIOUS.
Always have a shield because every turn you make could be your last if you run into an ambush. USE YOUR CAMERA. Look overhead and if something is over you, make sure you know when whatever is over you is not anymore, because chances are, as soon as you get past the landing over you, something will jump down from the thing and stab you in the back from behind.
Always look at blood stains and read messages. MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT YOUR TENDENCIES BEFORE GOING TO AREAS. Black tendency means rape. Sometimes you gotta go, but know what you're walking into.
And for god's sake, when a person invades your world, hide and then ambush them if you're farther down the map. Don't sit there and wait for them, because it gives them the upper hand.
So far, I'm level 80 and in new game +.
Game's terribly fun. I can only keep going farther, at this rate.
Oh and Merry Be-lated Christmas and Happy New Year!
