I'm quite sure neither of those guys has the least clue what a "nice girl" looks like.

It's funny, nowadays we've pretty much tossed the notion that having sex makes you a bad person, deny you need to feel any guilt over doing it, while at the same time we've been becoming weirdly conservative about it. When people on TV have sex now there's always consequences (if only emotional/relationship). No one ever just does it for fun anymore, it seems. And certainly not with someone they don't know well! (Except for House, who occasionally hires a hooker.) And while we talk about how trashy clothing is getting these days, I just have to look back to see Mary Ann's ass cheeks hanging out on that desert island. And of course, Starsky's jeans. ;-)

Thank you for the comment! I'm glad you liked my story.

Can't beat a good trip to the doctor's story...although poor Starsky.

I wonder what would have happened if Hutch dated Kira first...interesting to think about.

Great story, really enjoyed it.

When I was writing this I just kept giggling to myself, "Hee! I gave Starsky the clap!" We only hurt the ones we love... ;-)

Honestly, after several close viewings of SvH, I do think that Hutch boffed Kira first, though he'd never have said he was going out with her. I also think that Starsky was the *only* one of the three of them who thought he had been dating Kira for the past month. Certainly she wasn't giving off those vibes, even when she was giving him the "oh, aren't you cute" routine at the dance hall.

But I'll get into that more when I post my episode review, hopefully on the fourteenth. Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you liked my story.

Excellent - terrific foreshadowing, as thayln says, and not heavy-handed at all. But for the censors of the time, this could have been filmed as it feels very canon! Great interactions and banter.

Thanks! :-) Actually, my husband (who teaches sex ed to teenagers at our church) was saying that he would have rated this one PG-13, as he feels it's essentially a public service message regarding condom use. I think it would have been great if the show's producers had ever had the nerve to try tackling the consequences of all the sleeping around they had the guys doing in the series.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's wonderful to hear that you thought I had their banter on target.

Ew. Poor, poor Starsky. Serves him right, though. There was plenty of public info about VD around back then... anyone besides me remember a PBS (hilariously funny) public info program called the VD Blues?

Sing it with me!

"Don't give a dose
to the one you love most.
You can give her some marmalade,
Give her some toast.
You can give her a partridge
In a pear tree,
But the dose that you give her
Might get back to me."

I never saw that! Too funny. Look at what I missed out on, just because we didn't have a TV. Based on what we saw in canon, though, I don't think Starsky was paying attention when any of those shows were on. ;-)

Thanks for the feedback!

i actually got curious enough to do a google search and see if there was anything abuot the VD Blues on-line, and I found this that was kinda interesting (scroll down to the section The Price of Ignorance):

Youth, Sex and the Media

My mother had us kids watch it, and although I didn't understand a lot at the time (I was 10), it stayed with me as I got older and understood more, so I guess it worked.

Ewww! Should I feel sorry for poor Starsky? Not really, kinda serves him right. LOL...
Rebelcat, you have a talent to turn even the gross stuff into something very enjoyable to read. Hehe. :D

Thank you! I'll attribute it to many years of dealing with gross stuff (ie, parenting). Sometimes you've just got to laugh.

And besides, I've been wanting to do this to Starsky for ages. Ever since I saw that episode... shoot, forgotten the name... in which he was dating one girl in the beginning, has a lunchtime boff-fest with a strange woman he meets in a used car dealership, and then is back with his original girlfriend by the tag. And all I could think was, that poor girl. He really IS a "trashy boy".

And yeah, it serves him right. ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed the story!
